TBASO PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
The Tampa Bay Area Sports Officials (TBASO), is an organization established for the purpose of assigning knowledgeable and professional officials to youth sports and recreation activities with local leagues and recreational facilities in the Tampa Bay area, to include Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, Citrus and Manatee counties.
Currently we serve the following organizations: 1. Pasco Police Athletic League-a youth tackle football league
2. Hillsborough/Pinellas i9sports League-a youth flag/soccer league
3. Manatee i9sports League-a youth flag/soccer league
4. Hernando/Citrus i9sports League-a youth flag league
5. Westchase flag4kids League-a youth flag league
In our ongoing effort towards expansion, we continuously welcome new and experienced officials to our organization. As part of our pursuit of excellence, TBASO provides constant rule and field mechanics training which comply with the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) and the Florida High School Activities Association (FHSAA) guidelines. All TBASO officials are required to attend training sessions throughout the year.
For 2008, we have set a goal to obtain and are actively in the process of pursuing our organization becoming a Chartered member with both the National Youth Sports Officials Alliance (NYSOA) and the National Youth Sports Coaches Alliance (NYSCA). This charter will give several of our top officials the certification needed to conduct clinics and training sessions for officials, coaches, administrators and parents.
TBASO strives to provide our clients with officials who project both knowledge and professionalism. Each of our officials is expected to adhere to a strict code of ethics, dress and demeanor. Officials who do not represent our values are not tolerated.
